Eugene’s Memory
A Work of Love. The
connection with my mom and her seamstress talent began early in life. As a
young boy, holes in your shirts become a matter of frequency. As a chubby
boy they REALLY! stand out. Mom came to my aide, so I was off to school. At
some time during the day, I encountered the inevitable question, “Hey Gene,
what’s that worm on your shirt?” I looked down on my rotund body. There in
bright colors was my mom’s work of love. A little gather of cloth, held
together with rolling stitches of contrasting thread. When I pushed on it,
it did feel like a worm. Thus, to this day, when I have needed a hole
repair, the question still stands, “Mom, can you sew a worm on it?” I loved
Mom for her abilities. Thank you Lord for her!
Beth Ann's Memory
Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us.
1 John 3:1
My mother was specially chosen for me! Of all the mother’s God could have
given me, He hand-picked Marian.
The love she gave and the life lessons she taught me, are of immeasurable
value. I will miss my mother for as long as I am here, but her gain is so
much greater than my loss.
Mom never wavered from her duties as a Christian mother, her determination
to “get God in You”, and leave no one without a hug is an example of her
faith that not only I but everyone should remember and follow.
Thank you Jesus for the gift of Mom. May I have that kind of love for
family, mankind, and most of all for You.
See you on the other side, Mom, when you touch my face again.
Love,
Beth
Joy Lucht's Memory
My memories of Eldon and Marian living with us was
their singing and their laughter. Marian was always content with what
little she might have. Marian loved to shop at Goodwill and the Dollar
Store was her favorite. We had great times shopping with her. She could
get a bargain like no one else. She was one of my favorite aunts. As a
young child, Marian gave me worth by spending time talking to us kids. She
would play games with us. We always remember her baking something that was
wonderful. She carried on the Scandinavian traditions of her mother in
cooking. Whenever Marian came for holidays or reunions, she always brought
something to be eaten with a cup of coffee. My mom and Marian were
especially close as sisters. They would pray and sing together. They love
each other very much. We will truly miss Marian and know that heaven is
much richer for her presence there. Marian and Eldon were always together
and it is fitting that they should go there as close together as they did to
each other. I'm sure they are singing around the throne. We give special
thoughts and prayers to Beth Ann and Eugene at this time.
